Legends of Ancient Halls - a poem

a poem comparing lost love to ancient ruins with statues of beautiful lovers

leave comforts! -- delusion of being rich

go far to travel, live life as a pilgrimage

see the beauty of mountains, sit in a cave

in which Adam has lived, where Eva, her apple, gave

visit old kings' palaces, now crumbling into dust,

let the wind tell you a story which meanings are hard to grasp

listen, child, to these ancient halls

old legends are written on their walls

these ancient legends will sing you a beautiful story,

about true love, about a brave pair and their glory

in the courtyard with a statue of sublime beauty,

a goddess, maybe? a perfect woman? a real cutie :)

since you last walked this flower alley

millennia passed, my princess, since my lips last touched yours in desert valley

we sang the songs of eternal love; we were swearing

now, only a memory, a fleeting dove, your statue is weathering

the desert vanquish you, my love,

but I am the wind, immortal — wondering endlessly throughout this empty court

people will come and wonder about these old statues: Who was who?

I'd give my life for just another year with you.
